A government-issued ID is reviewed manually by our trust team and matched against the profile name. IDs are encrypted, never shown to other members, and deleted after approval.

Facial recognition photo match
You take a short liveness selfie from inside the app. It's matched against your ID and uploaded profile photos, filtering out stock images, catfish accounts, and stolen identities.

Live video verification
A brief on-camera check confirms a real person is behind the profile. Nothing from the session is stored - only the pass/fail outcome is logged to your account.

SMS and email two-factor
Every login requires a second factor. Both phone number and email are verified on signup and can be changed only after re-authentication.

Manual profile review
A human on our trust team reviews every profile before activation. Photos, bios, and stated preferences are checked against community guidelines. Only then does a verified badge appear.

Data handling
How We Handle Your Data
Gemcitydating runs on bank-level security. All traffic between your device and our servers is protected by TLS 1.3 encryption. Personal data is encrypted at rest using AES-256. Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant partner - we never see, log, or store raw card numbers.
We're fully compliant with GDPR and CCPA, which means the same rights apply whether you're in California, New York, or anywhere else we operate: the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, export it, or have it permanently deleted. Deletion requests complete within 30 days and remove backups on the standard retention cycle.
Your contact details are not for sale. We do not sell, rent, or license your email, phone number, photos, messages, or billing information to third parties - not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to affiliate networks. The only profile information other people see is what you put on your profile, and only after you choose to connect with them.
We also don't let search engines index your profile. Gemcitydating profiles carry a noindex directive, which means your name, photos, and bio will not appear in Google, Bing, or any other search result.

Moderation Standards
A human moderation team covers the platform around the clock, supported by fraud-detection systems that flag suspicious signup patterns, scripted messages, and payment anomalies. Every user-submitted report is triaged within 24 hours, and urgent safety reports - threats, coercion, intimate-image violations - are handled within two.
Our policy on harassment is zero tolerance. Shaming, negging, unsolicited explicit content, scams, and impersonation are one-strike offenses. Accounts aren't suspended for review on these; they're removed. We'd rather lose a paying member than keep the wrong one.
The fastest way to protect a community is to remove the people who would never be welcome in it. We don't negotiate on that.

Reports are reviewed by humans, not bots. You don't need to justify a report, and you'll always receive an outcome update.
- Open the profile or message. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right of any profile, chat, or photo.
- Select "Report." Choose the category that fits best - harassment, scam, fake profile, underage concern, unsolicited explicit content, or other.
- Add a short note (optional). Two sentences of context help the trust team move faster. Screenshots upload automatically from message reports.
- Block if you want distance. Blocking the account is independent of the report - do both, do one, do neither. The reporter is never shown to the reported party.
- Wait for the update. You'll receive an in-app notification within 24 hours confirming the outcome: warning issued, account suspended, or account removed.
For anything urgent - threats, coercion, intimate-image abuse, minors - email [email protected] directly. Urgent cases are triaged within two hours, 24/7.

Is Gemcitydating an anonymous dating app?
Yes - as anonymous as you want it to be. You can blur your photos until you match, hide your profile from search and discovery, and use incognito mode so your visits leave no trail. Your identity is verified to us internally so the community stays safe, but other members only see what you choose to show.
Will my profile show up on Google?
No. Every profile carries a noindex directive that instructs Google, Bing, and other search engines not to index the page. Your name, bio, and photos will not appear in public search results.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Your profile becomes invisible immediately. Within 30 days your personal data is permanently removed from our production systems, and within the following retention cycle it is purged from backups. You can request a full data export before deleting at any time.
Can I use Gemcitydating without sharing a photo?
You can browse without uploading a public photo, and you can keep all of your photos blurred until you match with someone. You cannot, however, skip the internal verification step - a private selfie and ID check are required so the community stays free of catfish accounts.
How do you prevent catfishing and fake profiles?
Five layers: government ID review, facial-recognition photo match against that ID, a live video check, SMS and email two-factor, and a manual profile review before activation. Suspicious signup patterns are flagged by our fraud-detection system before they ever reach the community.
Is my payment information safe?
Yes. Payments route through a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant processor. We never see, log, or store raw card numbers. You can cancel, pause, or refund a subscription from inside your account settings without contacting support.
